Anthony De Monte

Anthony De Monte is Head of Field Solutions at the Crop Science division of Bayer in Australia and New Zealand. Based in Melbourne, Anthony is responsible for leading Bayer’s customer driven development program to broaden the Bayer product portfolio in support of Australian and New Zealand growers.

Anthony grew up on a family vegetable farming operation in Queensland, where he developed a passion for agriculture. After completing a Bachelor of Agricultural Science at the University of Queensland, Anthony commenced his now 25-year career with Bayer in a field development role, conducting trials for product registration in cotton and horticulture crops.

In 2002, Anthony moved from the field to Melbourne to manage the development of Bayer seed treatment products. He has since held similar roles managing the development of products for the cotton and horticulture portfolios before moving to the marketing team in 2013. Anthony was most recently the customer marketing lead for the horticulture portfolio before being appointed Head of Field Solutions ANZ in 2022.

Anthony has a strong understanding of the needs of modern agriculture and is passionate about connecting Bayer’s innovation with Australian and New Zealand growers to support their sustainability and productivity.
