Hedge mustard

Description
While almost identical to Indian hedge mustard at the seedling stage, at the rosette stage hedge mustard has a shorter and a more rounded end lobe, slightly smaller yellow flowers and shorter pods (8-20 mm long compared to 40-120 mm long) that are more closely clustered.
Control
Like many other Brassicaceae weeds, hedge mustard has dormant seeds which germinate throughout a season and are viable for several years. They can mature and set seed very quickly, so it is best to target young weeds.
Eclipse® is registered for larger hedge mustard control up to 8 leaf and up to 15 cm in diameter hedge mustard in wheat, barley, oats, triticale, cereal rye and clover-based pastures and is registered to control.
Roundup Ready® with Plantshield® and Roundup Ready PL and are also registered for the control of up to 8 leaf hedge mustard in Roundup Ready and Truflex® canola crops. Brodal® Options is registered for early post-emergent control of up to 2 leaf and not more than 60 mm (diameter) hedge mustard in clover-based pasture, field peas, lentils and lupins and offers some residual control. Tramat® is registered for the control of cruciferous weeds (members of the Brassicaceae family) in oilseed poppy and onion crops.
