Atlantis® OD Selective Herbicide

Atlantis OD simplifies the control of mixed grass weed infestations in wheat with a single post-emergent spray. It is registered for the post-emergent control of wild oats and annual phalaris, and the suppression of brome grass, barley grass and annual ryegrass. Adding Atlantis to your program can contribute extra control of key grass weeds that can make a big difference at harvest. Atlantis tank-mixes very well with a range of key broadleaf weed herbicides (e.g. Precept® and Velocity®) and works well as part of an integrated weed management program involving herbicides with other modes of action. The ‘OD’ formulation uses ODesi® technology improving spray retention and foliar uptake, so you get more value from every application.

Lontrel® Atlantis OD may be mixed with Lontrel (both SL and SG formulation). Use BS 1000 at 0.25% v/v or Hasten® at 1% v/v as recommended for the weeds being controlled.
Tigrex® Selective Herbicide BS 1000 at 0.25% v/v must be used when mixing with Tigrex. Do not apply with a crop oil as excessive crop damage may occur. If spraying brome grass and barley grass, more reliable supression will be obtained if Atlantis OD is applied alone and the adjuvant Hasten is used.
Jaguar® Selective Herbicide Grassweed control may be adversely affected and the level of chlorosis and slowed crop growth may be increased. BS 1000 at 0.25% v/v must be used when mixing Jaguar. Do not apply with a crop oil as excessive crop damage may occur. If spraying brome grass and barley grass, more reliable supression will be obtained if Atlantis OD is applied alone and the adjuvant Hasten is used.
MCPA LVE Currently it is recommended that BS 1000 at 0.25% v/v be used when mixing with MCPA LVE. If spraying brome grass and barley grass, more reliable suppression will be obtained if Atlantis OD is applied alone and the adjuvant Hasten is used.
Precept® Selective Herbicide Atlantis OD may be mixed with Precept herbicide. Use crop oil concentrate as directed on the Precept label. Rates of Precept higher than 1.0 L/ha have not been evaluated. Before mixing Precept at rates higher than 1.0 L/ha consult Bayer CropScience.
Velocity® Selective Herbicide Up to 670 mL/ha. Atlantis OD may be mixed with Velocity. Use Hasten® 1% v/v.
Hotshot® Up to 500 mL/ha
Buctril® MA Selective Herbicide Atlantis OD may be mixed with Buctril MA herbicide. Use of BS 1000 at 0.25% v/v or a crop oil concentrate (see surfactant/wetting agent recommendations) at 1% v/v as recommended for the weeds being controlled.

Question Answer
1 Which surfactant/wetting agent should I use when applying Atlantis OD? Atlantis OD works best with the addition of BS1000 at 0.25% v/v or either of the crop oil concentrates, Hasten® or Rocket® at 1% v/v. When applying Atlantis OD for suppression of brome grass or barley grass, only use Hasten or Rocket. For information on other non-ionic wetting agents or crop oil concentrates, please contact Bayer CropScience.
2 Is Atlantis OD suitable for any crop other than wheat? No. Atlantis OD is only registered in wheat and may cause serious damage to other crops.
3 At what growth stage of the crop is the use of Atlantis OD recommended? For best results, wheat should be at least at the 3 leaf stage (Z13 growth stage) before applying Atlantis OD.
4 Which herbicides are compatible with Atlantis OD? Atlantis OD is compatible with Precept, Lontrel®, Velocity, Tigrex, Buctril® MA, Jaguar and MCPA LVE. For advice on mixing with other herbicides, please contact your local Bayer CropScience representative.
5 Which insecticides are compatible with Atlantis OD Herbicide? Atlantis OD is physically compatible with Fastac® Duo, Decis Options®, Supracide® 400EC, Imidan® 150EC and Sonic® 200EC. Atlantis OD is physically and biologically compatible with are dimethoate (400EC) and Le-mat® 290SL. For more information on mix rates, please refer to the Atlantis OD product guide and product label, or contact your local Bayer CropScience representative.
6 Which fungicides are compatible with Atlantis OD? Atlantis OD is physically compatible with Prosaro® 420 SC. For more information on mix rates, please refer to the Atlantis OD product guide and product label.
7 What is special about the Bayer CropScience's ODesi (OD) formulation? The ODesi formulation technology provides better retention, better spreading and better uptake of the product when applied to weeds. ODesi makes use of a completely different surfactant system to achieve a significant improvement in retention of the active ingredient. Droplets of spray solution involving ODesi formulations actively change their shape on the leaf surface to become flat and nestle onto the surface, improving the spread of the spray on grass weeds. Improved retention and spread means improved coverage. Furthermore, ODesi formulations imitate plant substances, disguising the active ingredient and “smuggling” it in. Weeds are outmanoeuvred and rapidly and reliably transport the active ingredient to the inside of the leaf.
8 What are the minimum recropping intervals applying to crops following Atlantis OD application? A list of the minimum recropping intervals for selected crops is provided in the product label. For advice on crops not listed, please contact Bayer CropScience
