Question Answer
Which chemical group does Flint belong to? Flint is a strobilurin fungicide Group 11. Not more than 2 Group 11 fungicides should be applied during a season. Consult label for crop specific details.
If I get a sudden shower after spraying Flint, do I need to re-spray? No - Flint is rainfast as soon as the spray deposit is dry. The only retreatment requirements would be if wash off occurred before the spray deposit had dried or you had an extraordinary rainfall event of prolonged duration within a day of application.
Does Flint provide curative activity on powdery mildew? No, in principle Flint can be applied at the first stage of disease but for established infections alternative chemistry should be used.
Does Flint control downy mildew?  Flint is a very broad-spectrum fungicide and tank mixing for labelled diseases is not required. In grapes there is no need to add a downy mildew protectant when using Flint for powdery mildew. Flint provides preventative suppression of downy mildew, at least equivalent to copper or mancozeb. If downy mildew pressure is high, or infection has occurred then a specific downy mildew eradicant fungicide should be applied. Such fungicides may include Ridomil®.
What is mesostemic® locked on power?  Flint binds strongly to plant surfaces, the majority of the product being held within the waxy layer. Local vapour movement and redistribution (translaminar effect) allows a proportion of the deposit to move onto untreated surfaces. This action provides: stronger preventative activity, longer lasting disease control, a high level of rainfastness, and improved protection within the crop canopy.
